Nature presents us with so many opportunities to see beauty, intricate patterns, colors, sights and smells. Hopefully you take the time to stop and appreciate them. The challenge with photography is to not only convey what you saw but to illicit in the viewer what you may have felt too. Was I successful here? Only you can be the judge of that.
Breathtaking, powerful, spectacular, calming, relaxing...these are all words that can be used to describe waterfalls. The images in this gallery are ones I've captured on some of my travels. I really enjoy making the trek to these locations and anticipating what it's going to look like. I just love that moment when the waterfall comes in to view. You can't help but stand there for a moment to take it all in and admire the amazing sight before you.
This gallery contains images that were manipulated using Photoshop. It includes digital paintings, HDR and other variations. They're not simply converted via filters, these were created using various techniques. The paintings take advantage of the paint brushes available with the latest CS5 program. The HDR creations were created using a program called Photomatrix and then altered further in Photoshop CS5.
Black and White images can be very powerful and expressive. As a photographer one looks to highlight contrast here.
In this gallery are my attempts at taking monochrome images. When I take B&W pictures, I shoot with the black and white setting on versus capturing the scene in color and converting it later. I specifically try to look for settings that I think will look good as a monochromatic image. Not all scenes make good B&W pictures. This makes it more challenging for me.
Panoramas give the viewer a unique perspective of a scene. These images are made by stitching together 3 or more pictures using Photoshop and the results are quite nice. When out and about I often stop to look for scenes that I think would make a good panoramic shot. In this gallery are some examples for you to view.
Please note that if you are interested in ordering a panoramic print, you can contact me for pricing and other details. These are sized to be printed as small as 4 X 12 up to as large as 30 inches long. It depends on the picture.
